A Younger You: 4 Tips To Roll Back The Years

For decades upon decades, we don’t think it will happen to us. Then, it smacks us in the face.

That’s right, today’s topic is all about staying young. It is something that is going to remain hot news regardless of the year that we find ourselves in; everyone wants to try and knock a few years off their perceived age.

Sometimes, plastic surgery is the answer. Some of these procedures might be obvious and based around the face, while others like breast augmentation might tackle some of the more discreet elements of the aging process.

Instead of focus on the above, today’s piece is now going to look at some of the more simple, every day steps you can take to shave a few years from your age.

Watch how you sleep

It sounds ridiculous, but trust us, keeping one eye on the position in which you sleep is one of the easiest ways you can make sure that the years don't catch up with you.

Dermatologists have found over the years that a lot of people tend to have a preferred side when they hit the pillow. Unfortunately, it's this side that receives the biggest impressions during the night - and this is something that over time can impact your skin and cause wrinkles.

The solution? Try and sleep on your back.

Similar rules occur when you are driving

It's a similar story, in some ways, when you get behind the wheel. Unless you happen to regularly hop between countries, you will of course be sat in the same driver’s seat every day you take to the roads.

Over time, you'll start to see that the sun impacts one side of your face more than the other. This is because one of the sides is immediately facing the sun and as we all know, this is a quick recipe for aging.

So, what should you do? Obviously, we're not going to suggest that you give up driving, but the easiest course of advice is to instead just apply sunscreen. Even if it seems to be a relatively cloudy day, over time this issue will keep happening and you'll be left with one side of your face that has suffered from the effects of the sun more than the other.

You don't give skincare products a proper chance

The basic rule with this next point is not to believe all of the marketing hype that skincare manufacturers tend to attach to their products.

If it says you'll see a difference in a matter of days, you probably won't. Generally, it takes around three weeks before you see any sort of difference, so if you are the type of person who is constantly chopping and changing products you are not going to see any progress in the slightest. Stick with one and see where it takes you over the course of the next month.

Keep calm and carry on

We've all heard the saying, but when it comes to your skin you might be surprised at the impact basic impressions have on your overall appearance. If you are the type of person who scowls or frowns a lot, over time these small indents in your face are going to become permanent. In other words, you’ll develop wrinkles very quickly.
